Abstract: From the perspective of the microchannel configuration, recent research progresses of pressure drop for fluids in constant cross-section microchannels, varying cross-section microchannels, and complex microchannels were reviewed. The research progress of Hagen?Poiseuille's law in straight microchannels was discussed. The effect of the variation of cross section of microchannels on the pressure drop was analyzed, and difficulties on the research on the pressure drop of fluids in microchannels with complex configurations were summarized. The influences of viscosity, slippage, characteristic scale and measurement methods on pressure drop were discussed. The results give insights into the construction of the prediction model of pressure drop of fluids in microchannels. The perspectives of this field were expected.
